The Island love story of Denise

Since 2009, I knew that one day I would move to an island where palm trees grow. A few years ago, I felt that the time had come to follow my heart. As I visited different islands, there was one place that softly whispered to my soul and called me home: Mallorca.

As a photographer and artist, I had long dreamed of creating a book. The kind of dream that sits quietly on a shelf, waiting for the day you finally pick it up. A book that takes you on a journey to a sunny destination.

I moved to Mallorca one year ago. Just a few weeks after arriving, during a meditation, I realized I was meant to create a book about the island. I could clearly feel how it should look and what it would bring. A book not only about Mallorca, but also a way to give something back to the island. At the same time, I felt I needed to let go of the idea for a while and give myself the space to truly settle here first.

So when Kiki asked me last fall if I wanted to photograph a book about Mallorca, I immediately knew: yes, this is exactly what I want. I feel so grateful for this opportunity, gracias Jacqui, and amazed at how everything has come together and is now becoming a reality.

I look forward to all the adventures we will experience, the places we will discover, the extraordinary island residents we will meet and to fall in love with Mallorca even more.
